Azalastin® 0.05% Azelastine Hydrochloride Eye Drops is a dual-acting agent that functions as an antihistamine and a mast cell stabilizer. It can selectively block H1-receptors, prevent histamine from binding to such receptors, block the production of allergic reactions at the level of histamine-triggered reactions, and has a stabilizing effect on mast cells. It can also prevent the release of inflammatory mediators such as histamine, leukotrienes, or platelet-activating factor (PAF). Due to its dual mechanism of action against allergies, it can quickly relieve the itchy eye symptoms caused by allergic conjunctivitis. It is the first choice for the treatment of acute allergic conjunctivitis, the basic medication for chronic allergic conjunctivitis, and the preventive medication for allergic conjunctivitis.
